I was going to write a blog about the top 10 things we bought which we just couldn’t do without. As I wrote the list of things, that grew to 20, then 30 and more things just keep getting added! Babies need A LOT of stuff, and this was just a cherry-pick of our favourites! So instead, I’ll start a series of posts about the things we’ve bought or have been given which we just couldn’t possible think about surviving without.
I’m going to try and avoid the most obvious things people would buy, although in some cases I’ll suggest what the best of a certain category is if we felt strongly about it.
Enough babbling, let’s get this list started in no particular order…
1. Baby Gap Socks
We were given socks for our baby. Shocker. But these weren’t just any old socks… these are Baby Gap socks.
Most parents will think about baby socks with a sense of trepidation and ennui. Why? Because they never achieve their only purpose of staying on your babies damned feet! Now, I thought that this sock crisis was going to begin when Zeff was walking about as we never had any trouble with socks!
It turns out it’s because Baby Gap socks are magic and simply stay on.

2. Fish Baby Gym
We were given a few baby gyms, and one in particular was a hit. Every morning he will play in this gym for minutes at a time! I can even leave him happily attacking the fish for 30 minutes, enough time to pour a bowl of cereal and catch up on reddit. How simply wonderful.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like they make it any more… sorry!
